A Great Nanny Can Help to Make Mother’s Day Extra Special

Great Nanny

A Great Nanny Can Help to Make Mother’s Day Extra Special for a new mom more than the usually involves rest, chocolates and flowers she likes.

This year, the opportunity to make all the loving mothers feel special is arriving on 14th May.

Generally speaking, it’s a day when motherhood is celebrated and valued, and mothers are recognized for their contribution to their society, which is actually something that’s worthy of recognition every single day of the year.

A Little History:  Making Mother’s Day Special for All Mothers

Mother’s Day was started as an effort of American social activist Anna Jarvis. She vowed to have an annual holiday in the United States dedicated to mothers, which was inspired by the death of her mother. In fact, she campaigned all her life to have a Mother’s Day in the United States.

Needless to say, her journey to seeking national recognition for mothers in the country was full of struggles. During the 1900s, women’s rights were not as widely recognized as they are today, so her efforts were never taken seriously for a long time. The society being male dominated didn’t help, either.

However, Jarvis finally found a breakthrough when she managed to arrange a Mother’s Day event in West Virginia, on May 8, 1908. It became a success as over 400 children and their mothers became a part of the event. But she continued her efforts for a national level recognition.

And the day finally came when she got the opportunity to appeal for the day directly to the then President, Woodrow Wilson, who made Mother’s Day an official national annual holiday in 1914.
